On the way back to the country, a poor soldier walks with his violin. He meets the Devil who offers to exchange the instrument for a magic book that can make his fortune. The Soldier accepts, but discovers that he has lost three years of his life and that his loved ones have forgotten. Rich, but unable to find happiness, he will do everything to recover his violin, even stealing the Devil ... Constrained by the restrictions imposed by the war, Stravinsky conceived this work on the model of the traveling theater, with a reduced instrumentation that could be played everywhere. He created a work accessible to all crossed by multiple influences: tango, ragtime, paso doble and even jazz. Known for his spectacular creations and a virtuoso use of video ( Alceste , The Ghost Ship , Tristan and Isolde , ...), the director Alex Ollé of the collective La Fura dels Baus gives to see all the dimensions of the work, of the most intimate to the most universal. He places the different stories of today's soldiers at the heart of his creation, offering and thus offering a very contemporary reading to this century-old work.
